Love is something that I think of on a continual basis. How do I love well? How do I show love? Do the people I love know it and so Question 5 of the daily journaling prompts is:

How did I show love today?

I have a lot of people in my life who I love. I have been blessed with a great family, great friends, and a wonderful husband. I have also had to grieve the loss of friends and family and one of the things that grief gives you is a sense of urgency.

I believe that love is urgent. It is imperative to show love, it is a gift to show love, and it is a blessing to be able to show love.

So today how did you choose to show love? Did you say "I love you?" Did you listen, encourage, or support someone. Showing love is essential and sometimes we are so busy we forget how important it is. I hope today you took the time.

Day 9 - Random Act of Kindness

“Do your little bit of good where you are;

it's those little bits of good put together

that overwhelm the world.”

Desmond Tutu

Everything feels easier when you are surrounded by kindness. It is beautiful to get a text from a friend just checking in, or a plant from your husband, or a cookie that your brother in law made for you. These little acts are like spring flowers - they bring hope. Life is hard. It is not an easy journey and to be cloaked in kindness makes all the injustice, anxiety, and unknown a bit easier. So today why not show a random act of kindness.

“Three things in human life are important:

the first is to be kind;

the second is to be kind;

and the third is to be kind.”

Henry James
